Candy 60 years – Flashback
"Enzo Fumagalli was innately skilled at looking after his best impulses, as can be understood from looking at the build and basic goodness of the man. He had learnt everything he knew from his father, Eden, and spent his early years working like a slave alongside his brothers in the small, family-run workshop … When one has been teached at such a training school, one doesn't mess up anymore. And that goes for private life as well."
Remembering Enzo Fumagalli, published in "Il Mastello," the Candy in-house magazine, February 1967.

"Together with his brothers Niso and Enzo, starting in the small workshop their father had opened, he breathed life into an engineering company. The company, which we now know as Candy, met with ever-increasing success in the manufacture of washing machines, tumble driers, gas and mixed cookers, air-conditioners, and refrigerators. This company is based in Brugherio, where there is now a state-of-the-art plant covering more than 75 acres of land, integrating a training centre for approximately 500 staff per year, the European after-sales centre, and a sports centre. The Group provides employment for thousands of people, and it raises a torch to the success of Italian domestic appliances throughout the world."
Appointment mention for Peppino Fumagalli as Cavaliere del Lavoro, 2 June 1973

"When reading this brochure before it went to press, we had the feelings of looking at a family album, full of memories, care, and events. But something has been left out: there is no sign of nostalgia. This brochure looks towards the future, because we know that all our experience can only be used to continue along the same path."
Niso and Peppino Fumagalli Corporate brochure for Candy's 30-th anniversary, 1975

The success of [Candy], one of Italy's largest household appliance manufacturers, is the result of one man's patience, hard work, and intelligence. The man is Niso Angelo Fumagalli, who spent the best years of his young life in hard work in the workshop, and studying. As well as his business skills, Fumagalli deserves high praise for his creative skills at the drawing board, down to the smallest details of the machines he designed. He holds a hundred-or-so patents, and it is here one must look for that special Italian creativity for which so many other countries envy us."
Speech at the awarding of the h. c. Engineering Degree to Niso Fumagalli, Genoa University, June 1968.

"The Candy Group is a factory of ideas, where people create new technologies and appliances to improve the quality of life at home."
