In the early Sixties, the Group pioneered the use of oval tubs and the “half-load” option in washing machines to reduce the use of water, detergent, and electricity.
Candy Group is on the front line of every voluntary agreement agreed by the European manufacturers, members of Ceced: beyond the advantages for consumers in term of reduced consumptions, such a commitment offers a strong contribution to the social responsibility issue.
For instance, over the past 20 years, washing machines have reduced water consumption by 62% for every 5 kg of clothes. The average dishwasher has reduced water consumption by 10% in the past two years. A Class A+ refrigerator uses about 60% less electricity than a corresponding model of 1995.
Candy Group shared with other European manufacturers of household appliances an investment worth € 10 billion in the past 10 years to improve the energy-efficiency and the performances of the products. |
